Synopsis of Multimodal Presentation
Jeff Wall is a Canadian artist known for his large-scale backlit photographs. He started his photography career in the 1960s and uses a unique style called "cinematography" that combines elements of photography, painting, cinema, and literature. He addresses social issues, particularly the living conditions of indigenous people in Vancouver, through his work. Wall's pictures are both aesthetically pleasing and thought-provoking. He works with various mediums including backlit color transparencies, black-and-white prints, and inkjet color prints. Some of his most famous works include "The Destroyed Room," "Picture for Women," "A Sudden Gust of Wind," and "Listener." Wall's works have been exhibited all over the world, including in Beverly Hills, New York, San Francisco, London, and Hong Kong.
My New Perception of Photography
Jeff wall's work showed me that there is more of a purpose to photography than just trying to take the most appealing photo. It goes much deeper than that. All the meaning and messages that are shown through Wall's photographs has made me realize that there is a lot of good you can do through the use of techniques to capture meaning and spread awareness of things. With him also changing his styles over the year and doing things that people didn't normally do shows me to not be afraid to step out of my comfort zone when taking pictures and to take risks even if they haven't been done before.

Hey Nick, I really enjoyed watching your video on Gray Malin. I think Grays pictures are very aesthetically pleasing and his technique with the aerial shot suites the landscape that he captures very well. Overall your video was very informative and gave a lot of background on your artist and was put together very nicely.
